CLINICAL CHEMISTRY<\/strong><\/p>\n

This course introduces first-year anesthesia students to the fundamental principles of clinical chemistry and biochemistry relevant to peri-operative care. It covers the basic structure and function of biomolecules including carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, and enzymes, and their roles in drug metabolism, distribution, and physiological balance. Students will learn the importance of fluid, electrolyte, and acid\u2013base homeostasis, as well as the biochemical basis of laboratory investigations used before surgery. The course also highlights the influence of natural products, drug\u2013biomolecule interactions, and enzyme activity on anesthetic safety, effectiveness, and patient recovery in clinical practice.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

<\/b><\/p>\n

ACADEMIC DEBATE AND CRITICAL THINKING<\/strong><\/p>\n

This course is designed to develop students\u2019 abilities and skills in academic communication and debate. The topics of this course train the students on using sources for academic communication, putting knowledge to good use, and raising academic questions and answering questions in an academic way. The course also aims to teach students how to accept and respect differing opinions, and how to conduct academic arguments. In this course, students are directed to raise questions and analyze academic texts logically and critically, i.e. they are guided to conduct a critical analysis of what they read, and are provided with the opportunity to practice and develop their skills by writing their reflections on the material studied and on their own learning. Moreover, the students will be assisted in this course by considering the problems of their country, and making suggestions to solve problems relying on academic mechanisms and methodology.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

<\/b><\/p>\n

ADVANCED ENGLISH<\/strong><\/p>\n

The course reinforces academic writing skills. In this course students write different types of essays based on the ideas they are exposed to in the reading selections. The emphasis is on the writing process in which students go through many stages from brainstorming and outlining to producing a complete documented piece of writing.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

<\/b><\/p>\n

FOUNDATION ENGLISH<\/strong><\/p>\n

The foundation English is a course designed to improve the English of the students whom they did not pass in the proficiency English test, therefore, the course will begin simultaneously with their first-year classes.<\/p>\n

<\/b><\/p>\n

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY<\/strong><\/p>\n

This course is designed to make students familiar with computer literature. Information Technology concepts are introduced with emphasis on software and hardware utilization. The students will be exposed to a broad range of computer technology and IT topics, including understanding computer, hardware, software, computer and communication, multimedia, web pages and the Internet, networking and the role of IT in public life. This course is divided into two sections: lectures and lab.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

<\/b><\/p>\n

KURDOLOGY<\/strong><\/p>\n

The territorial extent of Kurdistan, the ethnic and geographical extent of Kurdistan, numerical extent of the Kurds, the geography of Kurdistan, Physical aspect, the living landscape and habitat, the human aspect, an anthropological profile of Kurdistan will be taught in this course. Origins and pre-Islamic history, the Islamic period up to 1920, from1920 to the present day, the fundamental structures of Kurdish society, the Kurdish family, tribal organization, language and folklore will also be taught.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

It covers the skeletal system, including the structure and function of bones and joints and their role in support, protection, and movement; the muscular system, emphasizing muscle structure, classification, and function in producing movement and maintaining posture; and the integumentary system, exploring the structure and functions of the skin, hair, nails, and associated glands in protection, temperature regulation, and overall homeostasis.<\/div>\n

Anatomy II<\/b><\/div>\n
This course offers a comprehensive introduction to human anatomy, beginning with foundational anatomical terminology and the structural organization of the body. It examines the skeletal system and muscular system as the framework for support and movement, as well as the integumentary system and its role in protection and regulation. In addition, the course explores other major body systems, including the nervous system, cardiovascular system, respiratory system, digestive system, urinary system, and endocrine system, emphasizing how these systems are structurally organized and how they work together to maintain overall function and homeostasis.<\/div>\n

General Biology<\/b><\/div>\n
This course introduces fundamental concepts of general biology, focusing on the chemical basis of life, cell structure and function, basic genetics, and an introduction to microorganisms. The course integrates theory with practical laboratory work to develop essential scientific skills, including microscopy, basic experiments, and safe laboratory practices. It is designed to provide a strong biological foundation for students in the anaesthesia programme and to prepare them for subsequent courses in human biology and physiology.<\/div>\n
