On 20 May 2026, first-year students, accompanied by Ms. Sivan Haji, visited The Code Lab in Erbil as part of an educational field trip designed to strengthen their practical understanding of coding, robotics, and emerging technologies. During the visit, the students were welcomed by Mr. Rebin M. Ahmed, Head of The Code Lab, who introduced them to the center’s innovative learning environment and technology-focused programs. The students presented their PowerPoint projects and participated in interactive activities where they learned the fundamentals of programming and how coding can be used to create and control robots. The experience provided valuable hands-on learning opportunities, helping students develop problem-solving, critical-thinking, and digital skills while gaining insight into real-world technological applications. This visit also supported several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 4 (Quality Education) by promoting experiential learning, SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by enhancing students’ future career skills, SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) by encouraging innovation and technological literacy, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through collaboration between educational institutions and industry partners.
