The Artificial Intelligence Department from Tishk International University (TIU) actively participated in the 3rd AI Brainstorming Session on February 17, 2026. Hosted by the Korean Consulate in Erbil, this important event focused on encouraging new ideas and growing teamwork in technology across the Kurdistan Region.
Representing the university, Ms. Soma Solaiman from the Artificial Intelligence Department joined leaders from other schools, organizations, and major companies. Together, they discussed how artificial intelligence can help improve the local economy, upgrade everyday business practices, and keep the region competitive in the global market.
A major outcome of this meeting was the agreement to organize an AI Olympiad in the near future. This upcoming competition will connect universities, private companies, and the community to design creative AI tools. The Olympiad is meant to be a great space to discover new talent, encourage teamwork, and make the technology community in Kurdistan even stronger.
This event directly supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By bringing people together to focus on technology and education, the session promotes Quality Education (SDG 4), Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8), Industry and Innovation (SDG 9), and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17).
