Eligibility & Admission Requirements

The general requirement for student intake is based on Competitive Average Marks from the 12th-grade general examinations held by the Ministry of Education. Students must be high school graduates of the KRG Ministry of Education or the Iraqi Federal government, and their diplomas must be formally approved.

Minimum Required Averages:

  • High School Diploma (Scientific Branch): 57%

  • High School Diploma (Literature Branch): Not Eligible

The Application Process

We pride ourselves on making the enrollment process as transparent and straightforward as possible. Prospective students should follow these official steps to secure their place in the AI department:

  1. Campus Visit: Visit the TIU main campus and go to Room 139 (Student Affairs Unit) in the main building. Here, you will receive detailed instructions and the official Registration Form.

  2. Document Preparation: Complete the Registration Form in English. Ensure you have an official, approved copy of your high school transcript verified by the Ministry of Education.

  3. Grade Verification: Take your completed Registration Form and academic documents to Room 141 in the main building. Our staff will verify the validity of your entered grades and check your eligibility for the Faculty of Applied Science.

  4. Confirmation: Once your documents are reviewed, wait for a phone call from TIU confirming your acceptance into the Artificial Intelligence department.

Finalizing Enrollment & Success

Once you are formally notified of your acceptance, you must visit the university within two days to finalize your registration and pay the required tuition fees for the academic year. Upon completing these final steps, an enrollment order will be issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and you will officially become a student at TIU!

You will then be welcomed into a thriving, student-led learning environment where you will participate in orientation, meet your departmental staff, and begin your journey into the world of Artificial Intelligence.

Information for International Students

International applicants are highly encouraged to apply. Before beginning the standard application steps mentioned above, international students must:

  • Visit the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Kurdistan Region to issue a “Forwarding Letter.”

  • Attach the original version of your transcript and submit it to the Equalization Unit at the Ministry of Education.

  • Once the transcript is officially equalized, you may proceed to Room 139 at TIU to complete your registration.
