The event was arranged to be a part of the scholarly and community involvement efforts at the department, the goal of which was to create awareness of safe internet practices and severe consequences of cyberbullying among schoolchildren. In the presentation, the students gave a clear definition of cyberbullying, its prevalent types in the social media and digital communication tools, and its psychological, social, and academic effects. Preventive measures such as responsible use of digital behavior, privacy, reporting, and victim support were also highlighted by the presenters. Real life scenarios and examples were addressed to make sure that there is more understanding and interest. The event was completed with a discussion session that was interactive and participants were given a chance to ask questions and give their own points of view.
