April 5, 2026 – Tishk International University (TIU),As part of its commitment to connecting academic learning with real-world experience, the Cybersecurity Department at Tishk International University (TIU) organized an educational visit for second-year students to the KRG Department of Information Technology. The department, which plays a central role in delivering government digital services and leading the digital transformation of the Kurdistan Region, welcomed the students warmly. Rivan Bazaz and Dana Balisani introduced the students to the department’s mission and ongoing initiatives. During the visit, students had the opportunity to explore how technology is shaping modern governance. They were introduced to advanced systems developed by the department, including digital platforms that simplify government services, reduce bureaucracy, and improve efficiency for citizens. (حکومەتی هەرێمی كوردستان) Students toured different sections of the department, gaining insight into live projects related to data systems, digital identity, and secure infrastructure. These experiences helped bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, giving students a clearer understanding of how cybersecurity and IT contribute to large-scale digital transformation. The KRG-DIT team also shared their professional experiences, offering advice and inspiration to help students build their technical skills and prepare for future careers. The visit highlighted the importance of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning in the rapidly evolving field of information technology. This initiative reflects key principles of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It supports Quality Education (SDG 4) by providing experiential learning opportunities, Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (SDG 9) through exposure to advanced digital systems, and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17) by strengthening collaboration between academia and government institutions.
