On November 7, 2024, the Information Technology Department at Tishk International University (TIU) hosted the International Workshop on Emerging Trends in Information Technology and AI. The workshop provided an engaging platform to explore recent developments in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its ethical considerations.
The event began at 10:00 AM with an introduction outlining the workshop’s objectives. Distinguished speakers delivered insightful presentations:
- Prof. Amin Abbosh from the University of Queensland, Australia, presented “Toward Trustworthy AI” via Zoom.
- Ms. Ara Miran from The British International University in Erbil, discussed “AI in Action: Transforming Creativity, Security, and Efficiency.”
The workshop encouraged networking among faculty, students, and industry professionals. It sparked valuable discussions on AI’s transformative applications in enhancing creativity, security, and operational efficiency.
This event aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically:
- Quality Education (SDG 4): By offering attendees advanced knowledge of AI trends and their role in educational innovation.
