Program Outcome: Nutrition and Dietetics
By the end of this program, students will be able to:
Identify the underlying concepts and principles associated with the theory and practice of nutrition and dietetics.
Interpret and evaluate qualitative and quantitative data to develop lines of argument and make sound judgments in accordance with basic theories and concepts relevant to nutrition, dietetics, and the health of individuals and populations.
Analyze the effectiveness of different approaches to addressing nutritional and health-related problems.
Apply knowledge and critical understanding of nutrition principles and their development.
Critically analyze information and propose solutions to nutritional problems resulting from the analysis by utilizing a range of established techniques.
Assist in the development and implementation of interagency and cross-boundary approaches to the delivery of person-centered nutritional care within diverse settings.
Apply key transferable skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, written and verbal communication, teamwork, and autonomy in the workplace.
Design and implement nutrition intervention programs to respond to the physical, psychological, social, and cultural needs of individuals and groups based on a critical evaluation of the evidence.
Conduct research in nutrition and dietetics using quantitative and qualitative methods.
Identify the factors that influence the practice of nutrition and dietetics in the community.
Assess the nutritional and psychosocial needs of individuals at various stages of life and development.
Provide nutritional education to the public and improve the quality of life through the practice of the profession.
