On 14 August 2026, the Anesthesia Department at Tishk International University (TIU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Erbil International Hospital during MEDICO 2026, the first and largest international health exhibition in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.
The agreement represented an important step toward strengthening cooperation between academic and clinical institutions and aimed to create new opportunities for scientific activities, research collaboration, professional visits, academic exchange, and sponsorship and support initiatives.
The MoU was coordinated by Mr. Kovan Dilawer Issa, Head of the Anesthesia Department at Tishk International University, and Dr. Dlshad Hamad Chomani, Medical Director of Erbil International Hospital. Their collaboration reflected a shared commitment to promoting academic excellence, clinical development, and research in the field of anesthesia and healthcare.
Through this partnership, both institutions agreed to work together in areas of mutual interest, providing opportunities for students, academic staff, healthcare professionals, and researchers to benefit from enhanced practical training, scientific collaboration, knowledge exchange, and clinical experience.
The signing ceremony, held as part of TIU’s participation in MEDICO 2026, highlighted the university’s ongoing efforts to build strong partnerships with leading healthcare institutions and to connect academic education with real-world clinical practice.
