3rd Session of Fullbright ACAG Program

The third Fulbright ACAG Community Project was hosted on 9th of September 2024 in Maryamana Hospital,  by the Medical Analysis Department, Faculty of Applied Sciences at Tishk International University (TIU). The community project aim was enhancing the educational experience of Cambridge I School students. The project featured two esteemed speakers who shared their insights and expertise with the young audience.

The session opened with a presentation by Dr. Mohammed Qader Khoshnaw who is a licensed psychiatrist, Vice President of the Kurdistan Psychiatric Association, and an expert in mental health with over 10 years of experience. He has collaborated with international organizations like WHO and MSF, and regularly speaks on mental health issues. 

He gave a presentation titled: Stronger Minds, Better Choices: Your Path to Well-Being, where he provided students with strategies to enhance personal wellbeing through mindfulness, making conscious decisions and positive life style choices. 

Following Dr. Mohammed, Dr. Sherzad Ali Ismael who is the head of the Public Health Faculty at the Kurdistan Board for Medical Specialties and is skilled in nutritional epidemiology, non-communicable diseases, and public health statistics. Dr. Sherzad presentation was titled as Nourish to Flourish: Your Guide to Healthy Eating. He emphasized on how healthy eating habits affect the memory and influence the student’s performance. 

The Fulbright ACAG Program continues to make a significant impact, providing valuable learning opportunities for school students.
