5th Session of Fullbright ACAG Program
The 5th community project of the Fulbright ACAG Program was hosted by the Medical Analysis Department, Faculty of Applied Sciences at Tishk International University (TIU) on 12th of September 2024. The community project aim was enhancing the educational experience of Gasha School students. The project featured two esteemed speakers who shared their insights and expertise with the young audience.
The first speaker was Dr. Shayda Ziyad Jamil Al-Talabany, a lecturer at the College of Medicine, Hawler Medical University. She holds an M.B.Ch.B and a Fellowship in Family Medicine. Her presentation titled as Fit for Life: Building Healthy Habits for the Future. She highlighted the importance of developing healthy habits to improve the student’s performance and help them maintain their physical fitness.
The second speaker was Dr. Mohammed Qader Khoshnaw who is a licensed psychiatrist, Vice President of the Kurdistan Psychiatric Association, and an expert in mental health with over 10 years of experience. He has collaborated with international organizations like WHO and MSF, and regularly speaks on mental health issues.
He gave a presentation about Stronger Minds, Better Choices: Your Path to Well-Being, where he provided students with strategies to enhance personal wellbeing through mindfulness, making conscious decisions and positive lifestyle choices. He also talked about leadership where he mentioned that leadership is not just about guiding others; it’s about continuously growing and evolving on your own career path, inspiring those around you to do the same.
The Fulbright ACAG Program continues to make a significant impact, providing valuable learning opportunities for school students.
