ACAG National Workshop: Empowering Education Through Community Engagement
The Medical Analysis Department at Tishk International University hosted a national workshop in Ramada Hotel on October 12th, 2024, as part of the ACAG Community project series. The workshop was attended by Prof. Idris Hadi, the Head of Board of Trustees at Tishk International University, Dr. Mehmed Ozdemir, the vice president of TIU, Prof. Faiq Hussain, the Dean of Faculty of Applied Sciences at TIU, and many esteemed guests. This event, which brought together educators, students, and community leaders, was generously funded by the prestigious Fulbright Program. The grant was successfully secured by Dr. Tola Faraj, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, on June 18th from the Fulbright program administered by Amideast, aimed at enhancing educational initiatives that benefit local communities.
The workshop featured an impressive lineup of key speakers who shared valuable insights and strategies designed to inspire and empower students. Dr. Iman Ibrahim led the discussions with a thought-provoking presentation on the impact of positive thinking on students’ learning potentials. Her session encouraged attendees to adopt a positive mindset to enhance academic success.
Following Dr. Ibrahim, Ms. Kaziwa Nasraddin emphasized the critical role of parental support in encouraging students to strive for excellence and follow their dreams. Her session prompted engaging discussions among parents and educators about how to foster a supportive home environment for learning.
Dr. Hossein Hassani then took the stage, addressing various methods to improve the educational system across different facets. His insights sparked dialogue on the importance of reform and innovation within educational practices to better serve students.
Lastly, Dr. Kenan Kapukaya presented on the significance of volunteering within the educational framework. He showcased various community projects undertaken by the Faculty of Applied Sciences at Tishk International University, encouraging students to engage actively in their communities and develop valuable life skills through volunteering.
The workshop concluded with student participants expressing gratitude for the enriching sessions. Many noted the positive impact of the discussions on their academic and personal development. Overall, this workshop marked a significant step in fostering collaboration between education and community engagement, leaving attendees inspired and equipped with practical tools to improve all aspects of their educational journeys.
