The Medical Analysis Department at the Faculty of Applied Science, Tishk International University, concluded its Hands-on Training Course on Molecular Biology Techniques with a formal closing ceremony and assessment examination, marking the successful completion of the program. The closing ceremony was held on Wednesday 18th February , 2026.

The assessment examination was organized to evaluate the extent to which trainees benefited from the course and to ensure their comprehensive understanding of both the theoretical sessions and practical applications covered throughout the six sessions, including DNA extraction, PCR techniques, gel electrophoresis, and gel documentation. The examination reflected the department’s commitment to maintaining high academic and professional standards that further supports the 4th Sustainable Development Goal of providing and promoting high quality education.

The closing ceremony was honored by the presence of distinguished academics, including Prof. Dr. Faiq Hussain, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Science; Dr. Tola Faraj, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Applied Science; Dr. Orhan Tug, the Director of TIU’s Research Center and Dr. Sami Mamand, the Head of the Medical Analysis Department. Their attendance highlighted the faculty’s continued support for practical scientific training and student development.

In recognition of outstanding performance in the assessment examination, special discounts were awarded to the top achievers for the upcoming training course. First place was secured by Ashty Azad, who received a 50% discount. Second place was awarded to Mahmoud Luqman, who received a 40% discount. Third place was jointly awarded to Darya Sydqi and Mohammed Ali, each receiving a 30% discount for the next training course. The awards were granted exclusively as course fee discounts.

The event also included an appreciation ceremony during which certificates were distributed to all trainees in acknowledgment of their participation and dedication. Certificates of appreciation were likewise presented to the course trainers, Dr. Sami Mamand, Dr. Galawezh, and Dr. Jaafaru Sani, in recognition of their valuable contributions and supervision throughout the program.
