Fifth Community Engagement Session

The Medical Analysis Department at Tishk International University’s Faculty of Applied Sciences hosted the fifth Fulbright ACAG Community Project on September 12, 2024. This initiative enhanced the educational experience of Gasha School students through comprehensive sessions on physical health and mental well-being.

Building Foundations for Physical Health

Dr. Shayda Ziyad Jamil Al-Talabany, lecturer at Hawler Medical University’s College of Medicine and Family Medicine specialist, presented “Fit for Life: Building Healthy Habits for the Future.” Her session focused on:

  • Maintaining physical fitness through consistent practices

  • Establishing routines that support overall well-being

  • Connecting physical health with educational success

Enhancing Mental Well-being and Leadership

Dr. Mohammed Qader Khoshnaw, licensed psychiatrist and Vice President of the Kurdistan Psychiatric Association, presented “Stronger Minds, Better Choices: Your Path to Well-Being.” Drawing from his decade of mental health expertise and collaborations with WHO and MSF, he covered:

  • Mindfulness techniques for mental clarity and focus

  • Conscious decision-making strategies for personal growth

  • Positive lifestyle choices that support mental health

  • Leadership development as continuous personal evolution

  • Inspiring others through personal growth and career advancement

The Fulbright ACAG Program continues to provide valuable educational opportunities for school students, addressing both physical and mental aspects of well-being while introducing leadership concepts.
