On the 4th of June, the Medical Analysis Department at Tishk International University held the sixth session of the Health and Safety Fundamentals training course. The session was presented by Dr. Ramiar Kamal, a distinguished academic staff member of the department, and focused on workplace efficiency in laboratory settings: the role of melatonin and sleep management.

In his engaging and informative presentation, Dr. Ramiar explored the physiological functions of melatonin, its impact on circadian rhythms, and how elevated or disrupted melatonin levels can influence cognitive function, focus, and performance, particularly in laboratory technicians and medical professionals. The session emphasized the critical link between sleep quality and laboratory accuracy, underscoring the importance of healthy sleep habits to ensure optimal alertness, precision, and overall safety during laboratory procedures.

The discussion also included practical strategies for improving sleep hygiene, managing work-related stress, and aligning personal routines with biological rhythms to enhance productivity and well-being in laboratory environments.
