3rd Grade Scientific Trip to Fastlink Company
On May 13th, 2024, third-year students from the Information Technology (IT), Faculty of Applied Sciences at Tishk International University (TIU) participated on an academic trip to the headquarters of Fastlink, which is situated in the Ainkawa district of Erbil. The visit, which was arranged by the Head of the IT Department, Mr. Savriddin, and Department Coordinators Mr. Mohammad Salim and Ms. Huda, was intended to familiarise students with the practical aspects of a technology-driven business environment and to investigate potential opportunities for internships and future collaborative projects between the university and Fastlink.
The group was warmly welcomed by the Public Relations Department of Fastlink at 10 AM, and the visit commenced with an informative presentation from the heads of a variety of departments, including Human Resources, Network Operations, and Security. This presentation, which provided the students with valuable insights into corporate practices and business strategy, detailed Fastlink’s development over time, current operations, and its relationships with sister companies.
The students were taken on a tour of one of Fastlink’s major network towers following the presentation, during which they were able to observe telecommunications infrastructure in action. The tour subsequently transitioned to the main building, where the interconnected nature of various corporate functions was exemplified through visits to the data centre and other critical offices.
The visit concluded at 2 PM, following a final tour of Fastlink’s recreational facilities, which included a gym and entertainment areas. This tour underscored the company’s dedication to sustaining a motivated and healthy workforce.
This visit not only enriched the students’ comprehension of the practical applications of their studies, but also paved the way for potential internships and additional collaboration between Tishk International University and Fastlink.
