Mr. Islam A. Qader recently presented their paper entitled “Kurdish Handwritten Character Recognition System: Review of Methods and Progress” at the 10th International Engineering Conference (IEC) 2024, held at Dedeman Erbil on October 23rd, 2024. IEC2024 was technically sponsored by IEEE, represented by the IEEE Iraq Section. This paper delves into the emerging field of Kurdish Handwritten Character Recognition (KHCR), which faces challenges due to unique linguistic features, including script complexity, data scarcity, and high variability in individual handwriting styles. The research highlights the importance of developing robust models that can accurately interpret diverse handwriting samples. Ultimately, it aims to contribute to the advancement of automated recognition systems for Kurdish handwritten text.
