We are pleased to announce that the first session of our AI training course for academic research was successfully held today, Thursday, 5th December 2024, at 3:30 PM in TIU Main Building – Lab 206. A total of 41 TIU staff participated in this session, marking a great start to the training program.
This event was organized by the IT Department and the Cybersecurity Department, aiming to equip participants with the skills necessary to leverage Generative AI tools for academic research.
The session was led by Dr. Hemin Ibrahim, the Head of the Cybersecurity Department, who provided valuable insights into Generative AI tools and their applications in academic research.

Session 1: Introduction to Generative AI, ChatGPT, and Claude

Theory (30 minutes):
A brief introduction to Generative AI, including key tools such as ChatGPT and Claude. The session covered their applications in academic research, including text generation, summarization, and data analysis. -
Lab (30 minutes):
Participants had the opportunity to engage in hands-on practice, exploring how to use Generative AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude for academic purposes.
We thank all 41 participants for their enthusiastic engagement in today’s session. This training program aims to equip researchers, faculty, and staff with the necessary skills to leverage AI tools to enhance academic research workflows.
