We are proud to announce that a student team from the IT Department at Tishk International University has won 3rd Place in the Computer & Software Projects category at the Innovation Expo for Engineering Projects, hosted by Knowledge University on April 20–21, 2025.
Project Details
The award-winning project is a mobile fitness application titled Kalo – Kurdish Fitness Application. It was developed by team members Abdulbari Hawkar, Hedi Abdulrazaq, and Zakarya Dara, under the supervision of Mr. Mohammed Salim.
- Technology: Developed using Flutter, Dart, Firebase, and various APIs.
- Unique Features: The app supports both Sorani and Kurmanji Kurdish and includes a database of local Kurdish cuisine.
- Functionality: Kalo enables users to track food intake, manage calories, and make culturally relevant health decisions, filling a critical gap in mainstream food tracking solutions.
This achievement reflects the innovation and cultural sensitivity our students bring to real-world software development challenges.
