On June 26th in Erbil, KRG, Iraq, the Information Technology Department of the Faculty of Applied Science held the third Conference of Projects on Information Technology (COPIT 2024), showcasing 22 innovative projects. The conference took place at Tishk International University and featured participation from both TIU and Erbil Polytechnic University.
The event was officially opened by the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Sultan Abu Orabi, who delivered an opening speech highlighting the significance of the IT department and its impact on technological advancements. His remarks set a motivational tone for the day’s proceedings.
A notable segment of the conference was the poster exhibition, where students and researchers displayed their projects, facilitating further discussion and engagement among attendees. The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Abubakir Ashir, who spoke on recent trends in artificial neural networks, providing attendees with insights into cutting-edge developments in the field.
The conference also had the distinguished presence of Prof. Dr. Faiq H. Hussain, the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Science, and Mr. Savriddin Khalilov, the Head of the IT Department. Their active participation throughout the day greatly contributed to the depth and engagement of the discussions, highlighting the vital roles that leadership and expert guidance play in enhancing academic and professional exchanges at such events.
As the event concluded, certificates were distributed to the students who attended, acknowledging their participation and encouraging their continued involvement in the field of information technology.
