IT Department in Spring Festival

The festival had over 25 tents focusing on science, where attendees could learn about the latest advancements. The scientific tent competition was intense, with Dentistry winning first place, Nursing second, and Pharmacy third. There were also 35 tents representing various countries and their cultures, with UAE and Japan winning first place, followed by Palestine and China in second, and Greece and Egypt in third. Additionally, there were 25 special tents showcasing handmade accessories by disabled women and homemakers.

The IT Department, Faculty of Applied Sciences at Tishk International University (TIU) participated in the festival with a tent representing Mexico, showcasing scientific activities focused on artificial intelligence (AI). Dr. Hemin Ibrahim, who has a PhD in AI, supervised the following projects and activities for this event:

– Face Similarity: A demonstration of AI technology that compares faces to find similarities between them.
– Describing Faces and Ethnicity: An activity where participants learn how AI can describe facial features and determine ethnicity.
– Makeup Checking: A showcase of AI technology that helps people try on virtual makeup and see how it looks on them.
– Clothes and Haircut Suggestion: An interactive display of AI suggesting clothes and hairstyles based on individual preferences.
– Kurdish Game: A game developed using AI technology that incorporates elements of Kurdish culture and tradition.
– Typing Competition: A competition to test typing speed and accuracy, with AI monitoring and providing feedback.
