Social Project – Nursing Home Visit

A group of compassionate first-year students in IT Department at Tishk International University Bahez Abdullah, Sidra Sarmand, Amir Majid, Zainab Farhad, Bilal Hamza, Noor Ammar, Muhammed Sabah, Kaywan Kawa, and Zhyar Saber—carried out a heartfelt social project focused on visiting a nursing home and supporting the elderly.

The aim of the project was to bring joy, comfort, and companionship to elderly residents who often experience loneliness and isolation. The students visited a local nursing home in Erbil, where they spent quality time with the residents—listening to their stories, sharing conversations, and engaging in light activities such as games and music. They also brought small gifts and treats to brighten the day.

This project helped bridge the gap between generations and reminded the community of the importance of respecting and caring for the elderly. The students showed empathy, kindness, and a strong sense of social responsibility, making a meaningful impact on the lives of the residents.

Their efforts highlighted the power of human connection, and the role youth can play in spreading compassion and care in society.
