1st Stage Orientation Program

On November 7th, the Medical Analysis Department, Faculty of Applied Sciences at Tishk International University (TIU) held an orientation program for first-stage students.The orientation began with an introductory video showcasing the university and the Medical Analysis Department, highlighting the campus’s modern facilities and academic achievements. Following the video, the Head of the Department gave a warm welcome speech to the students and introduced the faculty members. He discussed the various job opportunities available in the market and advised on how students should plan their academic journey to be successful in their careers.The Dean of Students’ representative then spoke about the student council and its role in the university. He also emphasized the significance of extracurricular activities in the overall personality development of students. These activities help students acquire new skills, develop leadership qualities, and contribute to the community.

The coordinator concluded the orientation with a speech about the student handbook, attendance policies, GPA calculation, and the curriculum. He stressed the importance of regular attendance and adhering to the guidelines in the handbook to achieve good grades. He also explained how the GPA is calculated. Finally, the students were instructed on how to access the university website to view their lectures in the lecture notes section and how to enter the SIS system. The program ended with a short question-and-answer session led by two research assistants, where students who answered correctly were awarded.

The orientation was comprehensive, providing students with essential information needed throughout their academic journey. It served as an excellent opportunity for students to learn about the faculty, the various job opportunities available, the student council, and the value of extracurricular activities. Students were encouraged to maintain good grades by following the guidelines provided in the student handbook to succeed in their academic careers.
