The Medical Analysis Department at the Faculty of Applied Science, Tishk International University, successfully organized a hands-on training course on molecular biology techniques, marking an important step in enhancing students’  practical and theoretical background in molecular laboratory sciences.

The first session of the course was held on Sunday, 25 January 2026. This opening session focused on introducing the course structure, outlining the laboratory procedures that will be performed during the training, and providing the trainees with essential knowledge in molecular biology to prepare them for the upcoming practical work.

The session was honored by the presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Science, Prof. Dr. Faiq Hussain , and the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Applied Science, Dr. Tola Faraj, along with several esteemed academic guests. Their attendance reflected the faculty’s strong support for academic development and advanced laboratory training further supporting the 4th Sustainable Development Goal of providing and promoting high quality education.

The course featured two distinguished speakers, Dr. Sami Mamand, the head of the medical analysis department; Dr. Galawezh Obaid; and Dr. Jaafaru Sani, academic staff at TIU. All the speakers delivered comprehensive presentations introducing students to the principles and fundamentals of molecular biology.

This initiative demonstrates the Medical Analysis Department’s commitment to equipping students with up-to-date scientific knowledge and hands-on laboratory skills.
