Kurdish Flag Day Celebration

The Medical Analysis Department,  Faculty of Applied Sciences at Tishk International University (TIU) celebrated this year’s Kurdish Flag Day by wearing the traditional Kurdish clothing. The event, which was organized to promote and appreciate Kurdish culture, forms part of the department’s broader goal of promoting cultural diversity and inclusivity within the academic environment.

During the celebration, academic staff and students alike were seen in traditional Kurdish clothing, including the Kurdish kufi and the colourful Kurdish scarf. Everyone wore the attire with pride making stops at various departments within the university. The atmosphere was lively and festive, with music being enjoyed by all.

Speaking on the occasion, the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr. Faiq Hussain, and the Head of the Department, Dr. Tola Faraj, expressed their deep appreciation for Kurdish culture and the significant contributions that Kurdish people have made to the community and celebrated the flag day with pride for being part of this nation. They emphasized the importance of promoting and celebrating diversity within the academic environment, noting that it is only through such initiatives that mutual understanding, and cultural exchange can be achieved.
