Medical Analysis Representative at the 34th International Biology Olympiad [United Arab Emirates 2023]
A member of the Medical Analysis Department, Faculty of Applied Sciences at Tishk International University was selected to participate as a jury member representing Iraq in the 34th International Biology Olympiad, held in the United Arab Emirates from July 2nd to July 11th. Iraq achieved a significant milestone in its history by securing a medal at the Olympic Games for the first time.
The Olympiad is a globally recognized competition in the field of high school biology, aimed at recognizing, motivating, empowering, and providing support to future leaders in the life sciences, while also facilitating the growth of their international connections.
The training sessions were conducted in the laboratories at the campus of Tishk International University (TIU), where the teaching staff provided guidance and instruction to the participating students from the Kurdistan region of Iraq. The students were trained on the utilization of diverse scientific tools and techniques.
