Refugee Lives Matter

Among all the activities of our very hard-working staff, the Medical Analysis Department, Faculty of Applied Sciences at Tishk International University, organised a community service project titled Refugee Lives Matter, held on March 8th, 2022.

Ms Heshu J. Ahmed, Lecturer at the Medical Analysis Department and Mr Behcet Celik, Representative of DoS at the Faculty of Applied Sciences, organised a trip to Kawrgosk Camp. A team of 4th-stage students supervised by their classmate, Zina Sarteep, also supported the staff members on the field trip to the camp.

Goals & Objectives of the Project:

  • Improve local governmental institutions in the public health sector to deliver transparent and inclusive essential health care services.
  • Improve conditions for efficient health services for the refugees.
  • Provide medical care for more hours of the day in refugee camps.
  • Encourage other universities and organisations to provide such health sector activities.

The community project included many social and scientific activities such as presenting seminars, health check-ups by doctors and medical tests (blood group-blood sugar-blood pressure-urine analysis). Our volunteers also served kids food, painted their faces and presented them with gifts they loved and enjoyed.
