Scientific Trip to EPU Research Center

In a recent scientific trip, stage three students of the Medical Analysis Department, Faculty of Applied Sciences at Tishk International University (TIU) were taken to Erbil Polytechnique University‘s research centre, where they had an opportunity to explore the various devices and equipment available there. The trip was organized as a part of the Molecular Biology Course, where students were taught about modern techniques used in laboratories. The students were given a hands-on experience with the nanodrop spectrophotometer, which they were able to use to measure the concentration of nucleic acids and proteins in DNA samples.

During the trip, students were accompanied by their lecturer, who shared his knowledge with the students and provided practical examples of how research is conducted in the field of molecular biology. The students were also given a brief introduction to the history and achievements of the research centre and how it had made a significant contribution to scientific advancements in the region.

The visit to Erbil Polytechnique University’s research centre provided the students with the opportunity to directly engage with modern research techniques and procedures. This hands-on experience will be useful for the students as they continue to develop their skills in the field of molecular biology.
