Tishk International University annually performs several beneficial activities for students’ personal development, confidence building and developing relationships. Among these activities is Visit Your Future, a special educational trip for twelfth-grade students from several different schools to the university to engage them with all staff, and students, showcase academic environment offers and presents, and award special gifts for each school.
This year, the Faculty of Applied Sciences, along with colleagues from other departments, successfully completed our duty of visiting thirteen schools. During these visits, we made every effort to convey the truth and benefits of choosing TIU for their students’ future.
School trips and educational travel provide valuable challenges for students, encouraging them to step out of their comfort zone and engage with unfamiliar people and situations. By asking for directions, interacting with staff during visits, and ordering food and gifts while travelling, students learn to navigate social interactions and gain confidence, which can lead to increased engagement and involvement in the classroom.
In addition to benefiting students, school trips also have a positive impact on the relationship between teachers and their students. The majority of students feel that experiences like these give their teachers a better understanding of how they like to learn and what type of learners they are. By spending more time together and creating shared memories, the classroom environment and student-teacher relationship can be strengthened, leading to better academic outcomes.
Furthermore, school trips provide an excellent opportunity for students to experience different cultures and gain a deeper understanding of shared loves such as music, art, and history. By celebrating the elements that bring us all together, students can develop a greater appreciation for diversity and build bridges between different communities.
