On February 20, 2025, students from the Nutrition and Dietetics Department visited Jgar Xwen School as part of their ongoing commitment to community service and public health awareness. The initiative aimed to educate young learners about essential nutrition topics, empowering them with knowledge about healthy eating habits, food sustainability, and the long-term impact of dietary choices.

Our first-grade students led the session, with each focusing on a critical aspect of nutrition. Skar Salim addressed the issue of food waste, emphasizing its effect on the environment and food security. The session encouraged the students to be more mindful of their consumption habits and adopt sustainable practices. Banav Diyar focused on the dangers of consuming unhealthy foods, particularly the risks associated with processed and fast food. By highlighting the connection between diet and long-term health, the session aimed to instill better eating habits.

To further reinforce the key messages, the students distributed informative flyers with tips for making healthier food choices. The interactive nature of the event allowed the school students to engage in discussions and ask questions. Small gifts were rewarded to those who actively participated, aiming to inspire them to continue making healthier food choices and share their newfound knowledge with their families and peers.
