On 7th December 2025, the Department of Physiotherapy at Tishk International University proudly hosted a special welcoming event to receive its first grade students who have chosen to join the Physiotherapy family. This event marked a significant milestone for the department and reflected its strong commitment to fostering a supportive, professional, and inspiring academic environment from the very first day. The program commenced with a warm and encouraging address by the Vice Dean, Dr. Tola Faraj, who congratulated the students on beginning their academic journey and emphasised the importance of dedication, professionalism, and lifelong learning in the field of physiotherapy. He highlighted the university’s vision of preparing competent healthcare professionals capable of serving the community with excellence and integrity.
Following this, the Head of the Physiotherapy Department, Dr. Suraj K. Sulaiman, delivered a comprehensive presentation introducing the department’s academic structure, clinical training pathways, research opportunities, and its mission to deliver high-quality physiotherapy education aligned with international standards. He further emphasized the essential role of physiotherapists in promoting health, restoring function, and improving quality of life across diverse patient populations. A key highlight of the event was the introduction of the academic and clinical team, where students had the opportunity to meet the full-time lecturers and international staff members, including Dr. Aminu A. Ibrahim and Dr Mohammed Sidiq, along with the department’s dedicated clinicians. This interaction created an open and welcoming atmosphere, enabling students to become familiar with their mentors and feel confident in seeking academic and professional guidance throughout their studies.
The event was organized under the supervision of the department’s head and coordinated by PT. Paiwand Mamand, with the support and collaboration of the other grades’ physiotherapy students. The program was carefully designed to ensure that students felt valued, motivated, and well-informed as they begin their university life. Additionally, the department was honored to host visiting high school students who joined the event, providing them with meaningful exposure to the field of physiotherapy and valuable insight into university academic life. This initiative reflects the department’s broader commitment to community engagement and promoting awareness of physiotherapy as a vital healthcare profession. The welcoming ceremony was not merely a formal introduction but a celebration of new beginnings, reinforcing the department’s dedication to supporting students academically, professionally, and personally from the first day of their journey. The Department extends sincere appreciation to all faculty members, clinicians, students, and guests who contributed to the success of this memorable and impactful event, and looks forward to guiding and empowering this new generation of physiotherapy students toward excellence in education, research, and clinical practice.
