On 15 February 2026, the Department of Physiotherapy at Tishk International University organized a scientific visit to the Kurdistan Rehabilitation Center in Erbil for students from all academic levels, including first-, second-, third-, and fourth-grade students. The visit was conducted as part of the department’s ongoing commitment to enhancing practical learning experiences and exposing students to real clinical and rehabilitation environments beyond the classroom.
During the visit, students had the opportunity to explore the various services provided by the rehabilitation center and gain valuable insight into multidisciplinary rehabilitation practice. They were introduced to different rehabilitation programs, patient management approaches, assistive technologies, and the important role of physiotherapists within rehabilitation teams. The experience enabled students to observe how theoretical knowledge acquired during their studies is applied in real clinical settings to improve patients’ functional independence and quality of life.
The scientific visit provided numerous educational benefits for students across all grades. First-year students gained an early understanding of their future profession and the scope of physiotherapy practice. Second- and third-year students were able to connect their academic learning with clinical applications, while fourth-year students further strengthened their professional knowledge and understanding of rehabilitation services as they prepare for graduation and future employment. The visit also enhanced students’ communication skills, professional awareness, critical thinking, and appreciation of patient-centered care. In addition to its educational value, the visit served as a source of motivation and inspiration for students by helping them visualize their future careers and professional responsibilities. Exposure to real rehabilitation settings encouraged greater engagement in their studies and reinforced the importance of lifelong learning and continuous professional development within the healthcare field.
The scientific trip was organized and coordinated by PT Paiwand Mamand from the Department of Physiotherapy, whose efforts contributed significantly to the success of this educational activity. The department extends its sincere appreciation to the manager, dear Dr Mahabad Naqishbandi and staff of the Kurdistan Rehabilitation Centre for their warm welcome and cooperation in providing a meaningful learning experience for the students. The Department of Physiotherapy remains dedicated to organizing similar scientific and educational activities that enrich students’ learning experiences, strengthen clinical understanding, and prepare future physiotherapists to meet the evolving needs of society and the healthcare sector.
