On 17th December 2025, the Department of Physiotherapy at Tishk International University proudly participated in the annual celebration of Kurdistan Flag Day, a deeply meaningful occasion for the people of the Kurdistan Region. As Kurds, this day is commemorated each year to honor the national flag and to remember the sacrifices made for freedom, dignity, and identity. The Physiotherapy Department joined the university-wide celebration with great pride and respect, reaffirming its commitment not only to academic excellence but also to cultural heritage and national values.

The ceremony began with opening remarks delivered by Dr. Idris Hadi, Head of the Board of Trustees at Tishk International University, who highlighted the historical and symbolic importance of the Kurdistan flag and emphasized the responsibility of the younger generation to preserve the legacy of those who sacrificed their lives for freedom. This was followed by the official flag-raising ceremony, a powerful and unifying moment for all attendees. As a gesture of respect and remembrance, staff and students observed a one-minute silence in honor of the martyrs and all those who lost their lives so that future generations could live and celebrate freely within their homeland.

Faculty members, clinicians, and students of the Physiotherapy Department actively participated in the event, proudly wearing traditional Kurdish attire and carrying the Kurdistan flag with honor and respect. Their participation reflected unity, cultural pride, and gratitude for the sacrifices that made such celebrations possible. The event served not only as a national commemoration but also as an important educational reminder for youth and new generations about the value of freedom, resilience, and collective identity. Through its involvement, the Physiotherapy Department once again demonstrated its dedication to fostering socially responsible healthcare professionals who honor their heritage while contributing positively to society.
