The Department of Physiotherapy at Tishk International University proudly conducted an educational outreach visit to ZHYAR High School in Erbil, aiming to introduce 12th-grade students to the field of physiotherapy and provide valuable guidance regarding higher education opportunities and future career pathways.

During the visit, representatives from the Physiotherapy Department and physiotherapy students presented an overview of Tishk International University, highlighting its academic environment, educational opportunities, and commitment to student success. The visiting team also introduced the Physiotherapy Department, providing students with insights into the profession, academic curriculum, clinical training opportunities, and the important role physiotherapists play in promoting health, rehabilitation, and quality of life.

As part of the program, students participated in an interactive health awareness session focused on the prevention and management of neck pain, particularly among students who spend long hours studying and using electronic devices. Practical advice on posture, ergonomic habits, and healthy study practices was shared, helping students understand the importance of maintaining musculoskeletal health during their academic journey. The visit served as an excellent opportunity to strengthen the connection between secondary and higher education while helping students make informed decisions about their future studies. Such activities increase awareness of healthcare professions, encourage career exploration, and provide students with a clearer understanding of university life and academic expectations. The event also motivated students to pursue their goals with confidence and dedication.

The Department of Physiotherapy extends its sincere appreciation to the organizer staffs (Mr Kovan Dilawer, Mr Mahmood Soran, PT Paiwand Mamand) at TIU, and teachers and students of Zhyar High School for their warm welcome and active participation. Special recognition is also given to the physiotherapy students who contributed to the success of the visit through their enthusiasm, professionalism, and commitment to representing their department and profession, especially Barzi Sabah, for his effort to make this activity happen. Their involvement demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and a strong dedication to community engagement and health promotion. The Department remains committed to organizing similar outreach initiatives that inspire future generations, promote health awareness, and strengthen collaboration between educational institutions and the wider community.
