On 4 February 2026, the Department of Physiotherapy at Tishk International University organized a social lunch gathering for all academic staff together with third- and fourth-grade students at a traditional Kurdish restaurant in the city. The event was arranged as part of the department’s commitment to strengthening positive relationships, encouraging student engagement, and creating a supportive academic community beyond the classroom environment. The activity was coordinated by Mr. Mahmoud Soran, Coordinator of the Physiotherapy Department, together with PT. Paiwand Mamand as advisor, whose efforts contributed significantly to the successful organization of this memorable gathering.
The gathering provided a valuable opportunity for students and staff to interact in a relaxed and friendly setting, allowing stronger communication and closer connections to develop. Such social activities play an important role in enhancing teamwork, building trust, and promoting a sense of belonging among students. They also create opportunities for open discussion, mentorship, and informal academic guidance, which can positively influence students’ confidence, motivation, and overall university experience.
In addition, the participation of local and international staff members added a meaningful cultural dimension to the event. Sharing traditional Kurdish cuisine allowed international faculty members to further explore local culture, customs, and hospitality, while students had the chance to proudly introduce aspects of their heritage. These experiences help foster mutual respect, intercultural understanding, and stronger collaboration within a diverse academic environment.
The Department of Physiotherapy highly values such initiatives, as they contribute to student well-being, staff-student connection, and a positive departmental spirit. The event was a memorable occasion that reflected the department’s dedication to creating not only academic excellence, but also a united and welcoming Physiotherapy family.
