The Physiotherapy Department at Tishk International University (TIU) proudly participated in the Erbil International Fair – MEDICO 2026, held in Erbil from 11–14 August 2026. As part of TIU’s participation, the Faculty of Applied Sciences, together with the University’s medical and health sciences faculties, represented the University at this important international exhibition. The event provided a valuable platform for academic and clinical engagement, professional networking, and strengthening connections between the University and the wider healthcare sector.
The participation of the Physiotherapy Department focused on promoting its academic program, clinical education and training, laboratory facilities, research activities, achievements, and career opportunities to prospective students, healthcare professionals, and visitors. It also provided an opportunity to establish and strengthen professional connections with hospitals, rehabilitation centers, healthcare organizations, NGOs, and other institutions, with the aim of developing future academic and clinical collaborations and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs). The department’s participation and representation were coordinated by Mr. Mahmood Soran, PT Paiwand Mamand, and PT Snur Azeez, whose efforts contributed to the successful representation of the department throughout the event.
A particularly successful outcome of MEDICO 2026 was the achievement of two important professional collaborations for the Physiotherapy Department. The first was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with MoveWell Clinic, establishing a framework for academic and clinical cooperation, including student training, professional development, knowledge exchange, and future collaborative initiatives. The second was the establishment of an understanding with Bahoz Clinic, opening opportunities for future academic and clinical collaboration and further expanding the department’s professional network within the healthcare community.
The successful participation in MEDICO 2026 and these collaborative achievements reflect the Physiotherapy Department’s commitment to academic excellence, high-quality clinical education, research development, professional engagement, and strategic partnerships. These initiatives contribute to creating broader opportunities for students and faculty while strengthening the role of TIU Physiotherapy in advancing healthcare education and practice in the region.
