Physiotherapy Department Signs MOU with MoveWell Clinic at Medico 2026

Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq — 12 August 2026

As part of the activities and academic engagements of Medico 2026, the Department of Physiotherapy at Tishk International University (TIU) is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with MoveWell Clinic, marking an important step toward strengthening collaboration between academia and clinical practice in the field of physiotherapy and rehabilitation.

The MOU was officially signed on 12 August 2026 during Medico 2026, representing one of the significant outcomes of the Department’s participation in this major healthcare exhibition in Erbil. The agreement reflects a shared commitment to advancing professional development, clinical education, knowledge exchange, and collaborative initiatives within physiotherapy and rehabilitation.

The collaboration was facilitated under the supervision of Assist. Prof. Dr. Tola Faraj, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Applied Science, and with the participation of Mr. Mahmood Soran, Head of the Department of Physiotherapy, and Ms. Paiwand Mamand, whose efforts and contribution played an important role in establishing and developing this collaboration.

Representing MoveWell Clinic, the MOU was signed in collaboration with Dr. Shahla Barzani, Founder and Director of MoveWell Clinic.

This partnership provides a valuable platform for strengthening the connection between academic education and evidence-based clinical practice. Through this collaboration, both institutions aim to explore opportunities for clinical education and training, professional development, student learning experiences, knowledge sharing, research collaboration, workshops, and other academic and professional activities that contribute to the advancement of physiotherapy services.
