The Physiotherapy Department, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Tishk International University, successfully organized a Welcoming Back Ceremony for second-, third-, and fourth-grade physiotherapy students on 16 October 2025. The event marked the official return of students to campus for the new academic year and reflected the department’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence, student engagement, and professional development within the Kurdistan Region.

The ceremony aimed to acknowledge students’ progression in their academic journey while providing renewed motivation, encouragement, and a positive mindset for the 2025–2026 academic year. It also served as an important platform to foster social interaction among students, strengthen a sense of belonging to the department, and promote constructive communication between students and faculty members.

A key highlight of the event was the introduction of new and returning academic staff. Students were formally welcomed by PT. Paiwand Mamand, who rejoined the Physiotherapy Department after completing her Master’s degree abroad, as well as Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Sidiq, a physiotherapist from India, who joined the department as a faculty member for the current academic year. This introduction provided students with valuable insight into the department’s expanding academic expertise and multicultural professional environment.

The event was organized by PT. Paiwand Mamand and attended by all Physiotherapy Department faculty members, including the Head of Department, Asst. Prof. Dr. Surajo K. Sulaiman, Head of the Examination Committee, Dr. Aminu A. Ibrahim, and Head of the Scientific Committee, Dr. Mohammad Sidiq, alongside all second-, third-, and fourth-grade physiotherapy students.

Overall, the Welcoming Back Ceremony represented a meaningful and motivating start to the academic year, reinforcing the department’s dedication to academic quality, collegial interaction, and the holistic development of future physiotherapists at Tishk International University.
