Tishk International University (TIU) successfully concluded the 11th National Innovation Competition in Engineering (NICE 2026) on 17 May 2026, highlighting innovation, creativity, and engineering excellence. Held under the theme of National Innovation, the competition brought together talented students, academic supervisors, expert jury members, and representatives from universities across the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.
Many students from the Information Technology Department participated in the competition and presented innovative projects covering topics such as Machine Learning, Large Language Models (LLMs), Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, real-world engineering projects, and Cybersecurity.
The competition gave students valuable experience and the opportunity to receive feedback from professional jury members while their projects were being evaluated. This helped them improve their projects, identify areas for development, and gain a better understanding of real-world applications of technology.
The event supports SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure by encouraging technological innovation, engineering solutions, and the development of new ideas to address real-world challenges.
