The medical analysis department at Tishk International University held the fifth session of the Health and Safety Fundamentals Training Course on 19th of May, 2025 which was delivered by Dr. Arian Ganjo. She is an esteemed academic staff of medical analysis department. The session was conducted as part of the departmental ongoing initiatives aimed at improving awareness and safe workplace practices concerning laboratory safety issues.

As in previous sessions, during this informative session Dr. Aryan also focused on biosafety levels in laboratory environments as an essential component of safety in laboratories and biosafety in an infectious disease free environment. She outlined the four biosafety levels (BSL-1 to BSL-4), describing the microorganisms that are handled at each level, the safety equipment required, and the controls in procedures necessary to work safely in these environments.

Examining the biosafety standards that are currently in place for the laboratories of Tishk International University was also a concern for the participants. For this purpose, a constructive discussion on the biosafety level of the university was carried out bordering on practices that should be adopted to mitigate the described dangers in the educational environment.
