Unite Against Diabetes: Empowering Health Together Campaign

Under the sponsorship of Dalany Laboratory, a group of students from the Medical Analysis Department, Faculty of Applied Sciences at Tishk International University (TIU) planned a community awareness campaign for diabetes on November 27th.  The students provided presentations to high school students at Kurdistani Gawra High School regarding the forms of diabetes, their common symptoms, preventative measures, and potential therapies.

Using pictures and graphs, the medical analysis students demonstrated the consequences of diabetes on the human body during their presentation. They also discussed measures to control the illness, such as consistent exercise, a healthy diet, and routine blood sugar checks.

The students also performed a number of tests at the school, including blood pressure checks, blood grouping, and blood sugar tests. This was a crucial component of the project since it gave the students the ability to recognize people who may have the illness but were unaware of it. The tests were performed on both staff members and students, which offered the chance for early diagnosis and treatment. Overall, the campaign was a success, and the students were praised for their efforts to educate the school community on leading healthier lifestyles.
