Medical Analysis Department Supports School Sanitation Initiative

The Medical Analysis Department, Faculty of Applied Sciences at Tishk International University (TIU) headed by Dr. Tola Faraj, visited Rezan Primary School with representatives from the Dean of Students (DoS), Dr. Kenan Kapukaya, and Ms. Amnah M. Salih on February, 27th, 2024. The team of seven students from stages 3 and 4 worked together with the department representatives to clean the school, providing a more sanitary environment for the children there.

During the visit, the team threw away rubbish that had accumulated in and around the school, provided the school with trash cans, and raised awareness amongst the children about the importance of keeping their school clean. The department’s efforts reflect its commitment to serving the community in all aspects, including by applying some of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations, including thefollowing:

3rd Goal: Ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages (by repairing the school walls, reducing dampness, and cleaning the school).

4th Goal: Ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all.

Dr. Tola Faraj expressed his appreciation to the students who showed an eagerness to contribute to their community by participating in the event. He believes that such collaborative efforts are essential to achieving the SDGs of the UN, especially in the fields of health and sanitation.
