Medical Analysis Students Conduct Medical Awareness Visit to Sardam Hospital
As part of the Interpersonal Dynamics and Character Building (IDCB) course, students from the Medical Analysis Department organized a medical awareness visit to Sardam Hospital under the supervision of Ms. Amani Tahsin. The initiative aimed to promote community health awareness while providing students with practical experience in a real healthcare environment.
During the visit, students interacted with patients and visitors, conducted basic health assessments including blood pressure and blood glucose measurements, and provided health education on the importance of regular medical checkups, laboratory testing, and early disease detection. Information was also shared regarding healthy lifestyle practices and preventive healthcare measures to help individuals better understand how to maintain their health and reduce the risk of chronic diseases.
The activity highlighted the significant role of healthcare professionals and laboratory services in disease prevention, diagnosis, and patient care. Through direct engagement with the community, students gained valuable practical experience and enhanced their understanding of the relationship between laboratory medicine and public health.
The project also provided an opportunity for students to strengthen their communication, teamwork, leadership, and organizational skills. By working in a healthcare setting and interacting with members of the public, participants developed greater confidence in delivering health-related information and promoting awareness within the community.
This initiative was aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being and SDG 4: Quality Education. The project emphasized the importance of health promotion, disease prevention, community engagement, and lifelong learning while encouraging students to actively contribute to improving public health outcomes.
At the conclusion of the visit, students gained valuable insights into the practical aspects of healthcare delivery and community service. The experience reinforced the importance of Medical Analysis professionals in supporting disease prevention, promoting health awareness, and improving the quality of life within the community. The visit was considered a successful educational activity that combined academic learning with meaningful community engagement.
