Community Project at Nanakaly Hospital

The Medical Analysis Department, Faculty of Applied Sciences at Tishk International University (TIU) recently organised a heartwarming community project for children suffering from cancer. The department visit to Nanakaly Hospital was carried out to bring some cheer to the brave young children who are undergoing treatment for cancer. The team conducted a series of fun activities designed to put a smile on the faces of the young patients and help them forget their worries for a while.

The event was attended by distinguished guests, including the President, Prof. Dr. Sultan Abu-Orabi, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Science, Prof. Faiq Hussain, Dr. Hardee J. Sabir, Director of Nanakaly Hospital for Blood Disease and Cancer in Erbil, Head of the Medical Analysis Department, Dr. Tola Faraj, and DoS Representative, Dr. Kenan Kapukaya, who were there to provide a speech for the patients.

As part of the visit, a skilled musician played guitar and sang a series of upbeat songs, while a talented magician put on a magical show designed to amaze and entertain the kids. The children were absolutely delighted with the performances, and many couldn’t help but sing along to the lively tunes.

In addition to the entertainment, the medical analysis team also gave out gifts to each child, something that they were thrilled to receive. The gifts were carefully chosen to suit each child’s interests and preferences, ranging from toys and books to puzzles and art supplies. Furthermore, the department also gave each child a package of masks and sterilization to help prevent further complications in their treatment. As part of the fun activities, the students did face painting with bright and beautiful colours. It’s worth noting that the colours were selected carefully to not harm any child’s delicate skin. The young patients had a blast getting their faces painted and showing off their new looks! It was all a heartwarming experience that brought joy and happiness to the children undergoing cancer treatment, and the Medical Analysis Department was glad to be a part of it.
