National Workshop on Fundamental Techniques in Cell Culture

In collaboration with the Medical Research Center at Hawler Medical University, the Medical Analysis Department, Faculty of Applied Sciences at Tishk International University (TIU) organized a workshop entitled “Fundamental Techniques in Cell Culture”, held on December 5th, 2023. The workshop was attended by the President Prof. Dr. Sultan T. Abu Orabi, Dean of the College of Health Sciences at HMU Prof. Dr. Hamdia Mirkhan Ahmed, General Director of Medical Research Center at HMU Assist. Prof. Dr. Aza B. The focus of the workshop was on the importance of cell culture and its various applications. The speakers went into detail about the techniques involved in culturing cells and their significance in research.

Cell culture techniques are an essential tool for researchers in various fields because they provide a controlled environment to study the behaviour of cells and their responses to different stimuli. The cells that are commonly used for culturing are mammalian cells, which include human and animal cells. These cells are used to study different diseases, test new drugs, and therapeutic development.
