University of Dundee and TIU Discuss Collaborative Opportunities
Dr. Tola Faraj, representative of the Medical Analysis Department and a Ph.D. graduate from the United Kingdom, hosted an official delegation from the University of Dundee on 29th January 2024, at Tishk International University (TIU). The delegation from the University of Dundee was represented by Professor Iain Gillespie, the Principle and Vice Chancellor, and Mr. Jason Norris, the Director of Global Partnerships. From TIU, Prof. Dr. Idris Hadi Salih, the Head of the Board of Trustees, Prof. Dr. Sultan Abu-Orabi, the President, Dr. Mehmet Ozdemir, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Fatih Cura, Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, prof. Dr. Abdul Samad Salahuddin Ahmad, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Faiq H.S. Hussain, the Dean of Applied Science, Dr. Jafar Naghshbandi, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, and Dr. Alisher Babakulliev, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry were present at the meeting.
The meeting focused on discussing potential academic projects, joint events, student and staff mobility and other collaborative opportunities between the two institutions. The participants considered how such partnerships could benefit them strategically and create opportunities for mutual success. Both parties agreed that building an environment that supports learning and progress through these collaborative efforts was essential.
Dr. Tola Faraj shared his experiences of studying and working in the United Kingdom, and discussed how collaborations between TIU and Dundee could help improve research and academic programs in both institutions. Participants from both institutions expressed great interest in the potential collaborations.
Professor Iain Gillespie, the Principle and Vice Chancellor of the University of Dundee, expressed his appreciation of the warm welcome and the discussions held during the meeting. He also highlighted the importance of building long-lasting relationships with institutions like TIU that share similar visions and values.
